Yo!
Yea, ok, we're getting a lot of requests. This is good, i'm glad you're all enthusiastic. I'm just here to let you down.
While we'll still take all requests, from now on we'll only answer them if we have direct contact with relevant PRs who request the band in question. This is simply because if you request a band we have no prior contact with, it's gonna take a fair bit of time searching the PR out, which isn't really worth it if I'm doing it the whole time and most of the reviews will only end up on the website (which will be active soon, promise!)
BUTTT because I don't want to break too many hearts.. i offer a compromise. If you are so keen to get into a certain gig for free and are quick witted enough to do some detective work yourselves... if you can find out a relevant contact with record labels/PR company then let me or amy know who it is then we will make the effort to get in touch and arrange your tickets/guestlist. Please don't contact them yourselves, even if you have the most eloquent email etiquette they get annoyed with lots of students trying to blag stuff.
Tips for finding PR contacts:
- Get on the official website. If it's not listed there (as it is for smaller bands often), then there will be a general info@ email address which you should politely email requesting UK PR contact info.
- Try my space. Befriend the band, then message them, again asking for the UK PR contact (do this well in advance, replies can be slow)
- Try record label websites.
- If you know who is supporting the band you want to see, try them too.
Sorry we're being slow with feedback - we're busy innit xx
